Compassionate Beginnings™ is an egg donation agency, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, supporting women interested in donating eggs, to become an egg donor.  Although located in Cincinnati, Ohio, we also serve several neighboring areas such as Dayton, Columbus, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Louisville, and others.

We routinely set appointments to meet donors throughout Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.

Thank you for your interest to donate eggs. There are many things you need to know before becoming an egg donor. Most of all you must be mature, dependable, and committed to following through the entire egg donation process. It is a tremendous responsibility to be selected to serve as an egg donor. While the process of egg donation requires extreme commitment and may at times be uncomfortable, it is a very rewarding experience.

Compassionate Beginnings™, LLC is dedicated to your well-being and complete knowledge of this process. Your medical care will be under the direct supervision of a Certified Reproductive Endocrinologist and the entire team of nurses, medical assistants and personnel of the chosen center.

Donor Screening

To qualify to donate eggs, you must be:

  1. healthy, non-smoking woman
  2. between the ages of 21-32
  3. free of STD's
  4. knowledge of biological family

If you meet the above criteria and wish to proceed, you may complete our pre-screening application. 

  Pre-Screening Survey 

If your profile does not reveal any disqualifying information, we will proceed with a personal interview and psychological evaluation. After this, Compassionate Beginnings™, LLC will refer you to a medical doctor for an evaluation once you are selected to donate.

Being Matched with Intended Parents

Once the screening has been satisfactorily met, we will create a donor profile including a picture and personal information for potential intended parents to review.

Egg donors will be presented to intended parents through a password-protected, secure server, removing information to help protect your privacy.

Once an intended parent makes a selection, we will notify the egg donor and coordinate the process together from that point forward.  This will include the legal contract for all parties involved.

Medical Process

The medical procedure leading to the actual donation of the eggs starts with a synchronization of your cycle with the intended recipient's cycle. You will take a medication though an injection to suppress or stop your natural menstruation cycle. Once the cycles are synchronized, you will start a different injectable medication to stimulate your ovaries into developing multiple eggs. You will be managed closely by a physician certified in this area of practice. You will undergo blood tests and vaginal ultrasounds throughout the "stimulation" process to monitor your progress. Once the follicles (the part of the ovary that contains the eggs) are mature, you will receive a final injection of a medication that will finish the maturation of the eggs. 36 hours after this injection, you will undergo the egg retrieval under a mild sedation. During this sedation, a needle will be passed through the vaginal wall to aspirate the eggs from each ovary. A registered nurse and physician will be present with you throughout the procedure. You will be released to go home shortly after the procedure. Due to the sedation given, you will need a friend to drive you home. The average cycle from start to finish lasts 3 to 5 weeks. Upon completion of the retrieval, Compassionate Beginnings™, LLC will compensate you financially for your time and efforts. Although uncommon, there are risks associated with taking these injectable medications and the retrieval process. The physician caring for you during this cycle will explain the possible side effects and any risk involved. Compensation

Compassionate Beginnings™ adheres to American Society for Reproductive Medicine's guidelines on egg donor compensation. Egg donors are compensated for their time, service and inconveniences required to provide this incredible gift. The average donor compensation is between $4500 to $5000 for successfully completing a cycle. Total payments to donors in excess of $5000 require justification and sums above $10,000 are unethical and unacceptable.
